This is the support page for Hill Lists.

Known Issues

The most recent version (7.4) was released on 5th April 2022.

If you are using Dropbox for backups, there is an issue where newly linked apps time out after 4 hours (instead of being connected permanently). This doesn’t impact users who linked their apps a while ago (years or months, possibly weeks), and probably most people are using iCloud anyway. I do have a fix and will include it in my next update.

Frequently Asked Questions and Answers

Android – I have no plans to support Android. PLEASE don’t ask for Android app recommendations as I am the least qualified person to help!

Ben A’an – I often get asked why this hill is not in the app. It is basically a subsidiary top of Meall Gainmheich with a drop of only 33m. This means it is not in any of the major lists in the app, however it is a Tump (30 metre prominence). To view Tumps, use the location view (4th tab) and select the Tumps filter (top left). You can then find and tick it from the map.

Mac – if you have a Mac that uses Apple’s M1 chip, you can now download and run the iOS version of Hill Lists on your Mac.

Opening backup files on a computer or from Dropbox – backup files are not designed to be opened by anything other than the app itself. If you want to look at your data on a computer, you can export it in CSV format from any list of hills using the icon at the top left.
