Account Tracker (iOS) 5.6.3 now available

April 23, 2018 Comments off

help This update mainly focuses on exporting your data.

Made exporting CSV and PDF files much more generic, letting you use AirDrop or a choice of other apps (rather than just exporting by email).

Added support for exporting your currently selected budgets as a PDF file (PRO version only).

When searching, if you are viewing transactions in ascending order (oldest first), the results will be scrolled to the most recent (i.e. the bottom). Note that you can scroll to the top of any table view in iOS by tapping the status bar at the top of the screen.

When choosing an account for a new (or existing) transaction, the app now shows your account balances to make it easier to identify the account you want.

Minor UI improvements.

Hill Lists 6.0 now available

March 31, 2018 Comments off

hlicon57 This is a major rewrite of the app, mainly to enhance the user interface and to allow easier ongoing development.

All the main ways to interact with the app are now readily accessible using the icons at the bottom of the screen: tracking your lists, viewing your ascents, searching all hills in the app, viewing statistics (new!) and viewing nearby hills on a scrollable map.

In addition, I have also made the following changes …

Added support for the iPhone X.

Moved to version 16.0 of the Database of British and Irish Hills (DoBIH), a relatively minor update.

Added the Dodds – hills in Scotland, England and Wales between 500 and 599.9m high with a drop of at least 30m on all sides.

Renamed the Irish 900s to be Furths (in keeping with the database).

Re-instated regional variants of the Deweys, Hewitts, HuMPs, Marilyns, Nuttalls and Simms (where missing).

The app can now export your ascents in a format used by Hill Bagging (for easy import into their website).

Added two new (darker) colour themes, including night mode.

Finally, please note that you now require iOS 9 or above. Older versions (of iOS and my app) will continue to work, but you will no longer get updates.

If you come across any issues, please get in touch ASAP.

Please let me know if you come across anything (else) not working.

NOTE: this will likely be the last release of Account Tracker that supports iOS 8. My next update will only support iOS 9 and above. Older version of my app (and iOS) will continue to work, but you will no longer get updates.

Hill Lists 6.0 coming soon

February 25, 2018 Comments off

hlicon57 Over the past few months I have been slowly rewriting my Hill Lists app from scratch. The original code is almost 10 years old, and while I keep it up-to-date with iOS changes, it is fair to say it is not maturing like a good malt! 🙂

In version 6.0, I have completely redesigned the UI to make it a bit more intuitive. All the main ways to interact with the app are now readily accessible using the icons at the bottom of the screen: tracking your lists, viewing your ascents, searching all hills in the app, viewing statistics (new!) and viewing nearby hills on a scrollable map.

I have also added a few new features, including support for the iPhone X, exporting your ascents in a format used by hill-bagging.co.uk and two new colour themes.

I have updated the database to version 16.0 too, adding the Dodds, and re-instating regional variants of the Deweys, Hewitts, HuMPs, Marilyns, Nuttalls and Simms (where missing).

If anyone would like to try this out and give feedback before I release it, please get in touch.
